Purpose/Problem

This article outlines the proper expectations for delivery times when a system or appliance replacement has been ordered.

Audience and Scope

This article applies to homeowners experiencing part or equipment delivery delays.

Terminology

Cash-in-lieu: In the event that you would prefer to receive the cash value of equipment or a part rather than waiting for us to supply the item, you may request that we provide you the cash equivalent of what we would have paid for the part/equipment. This will often be less than the generally available price of the part or equipment at retail, but allows you to finalize the claim and use our cash equivalent as you see fit. Please see your Service Agreement for additional details.

ETA: Estimated Time of Arrival

Force Majeure: Literally meaning "greater force", this term refers to conditions that are beyond our control and/or that of a contractor, for example: weather; labor difficulties, strikes or shortages; telecommunications disruption; transportation stoppages or slowdowns; acts of God; war; terrorism; epidemics; or scheduling issues.

Process

When a Contractor determines that they will need to replace parts or equipment to resolve a service request, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty (2-10 HBW) will research and place the order.

Please understand that Force Majeure events can cause significant delays in supply, for example the COVID-19 pandemic created large-scale disruptions in raw materials, shipping routes, demand, and more, that continue to impact parts and equipment availability.

At times, our customers have been able to find kitchen appliances in stock when shopping retail stores in their area. If you are interested in discussing Cash-in-lieu option, to put towards the purchase of a local, retail appliance, or would like to see the status of your order, log into your Homeowner Portal account by clicking here.

We cannot expedite delivery to the United States.

Outcome

You now know what to do when you are experiencing part or equipment delays.
