Purpose/Problem

This article outlines how to determine why there are charges not eligible for coverage pertaining to a service request.

Audience and Scope

This article applies to resale homeowners inquiring about charges not eligible for coverage.

Terminology

Non-Covered Charges: Expenses related to completing diagnosis, repairs, or replacement under a Home Warranty Service Agreement that are a homeowner's responsibility.

Process

The "Warranty" coverage is not all-inclusive. However, it is designed to provide financial relief for the more expensive parts of your eligible systems and appliances, which means you may have Non-Covered Costs associated with covered systems and appliances. In addition, the Home Warranty Service Agreement is aimed at systems and appliances themselves, and does not take into consideration accommodations necessary to provide service on these systems and appliances in your specific home. Every home is different, which means that there may be Non-Covered Costs associated with accessing, modifying, or otherwise accommodating your home, systems, and/or appliances in order to proceed with a claim under a Home Warranty Service Agreement.
